Originally intended for humans, this medication can be prescribed to dogs and other animals if deemed appropriate by the veterinarian. Tamsulosin Hydrochloride makes urinating easier by relaxing the muscles in the bladder neck and prostate. It is an alpha-blocker.

Special Precautions

• Keep out of reach of animals and children.
• Not recommended for use in animals with hypersensitivity to tamsulosin hydrochloride.
• Sustained-release pellets in capsules should not be crushed. Rapid oral consumption can cause hypotension.

Overdose Information

Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet.

Side Effects

Tamsulosin Hydrochloride can cause temporary infertility in dogs due to reactions such as a temporary reduction in ejaculate volume.

Higher dosages could result in hypotension.

If any symptoms of toxicity are observed, discontinue use and inform your pet's veterinarian. These symptoms include:

• Vomiting
• Lethargy
• Ataxia (impaired coordination)
• Tremors
• Excessive lacrimation (tears)
• Eye redness
• Excessive salivation
