The inner layer of this men's wool blend long sleeve shirt contains 50% cotton and 50% polyester for absorbency and softness next to the skin. The outer layer is a moisture moving blend of merino wool and polyester which maintains warmth and dryness. This men's base-layer also has an additional insulating barrier that is created when air is trapped between two layers.     Have not wore in extreme cold but they are comfortable around 40 with 12 mph wind. As it warms up you do not get too hot. Will find out about colder temps later this year.
