Feeding Instructions:
Standlee Premium Beet Pulp is a high fiber source for horses. Beet Pulp can be fed to mature horses at a rate of 0.05% to 0.2% of body weight/day depending on level of activity. For a 1000 lb. horse, this equates to 1/2-2 lb. of dry beet pulp per day. Gradually introduce beet pulp into the diet during a 7-10 day period. Beet Pulp is a dehydrated product and is recommended to be soaked (completely submerged) in water for a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes prior to feeding, or until properly softened. Never feed moldy or insect infested beet pulp to horses. Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water. If you have questions, please contact the nutritionists at Standlee Premium Western Forage, or consult with your veterinarian.

Which is best shreds or pellets?

Asked by: TerrieS
Thank you for your inquiry. The only difference between the two products is the form in which they come in and the weight of the packages. The shreds are great for horses with no dental issues or choke hazards and come in a 25lb bag. The pellets are great for any equine, and this product comes in a 40lb bag. To say one would be more recommended than the other, would depend on the animal in which it is being fed to. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have further questions at 1-800-398-0819. Thank you

What is the potassium percentage of this feed?

Asked by: KatetheGreat999
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not test each batch as it is made, we test our fields, we are required by law to guarantee protein, fat, fiber and moisture, we are not required to guarantee non-structured carbs (WSC & Starch). The 5-year average of the potassium is 0.10%. Thank you
