Item Information

Standlee Premium Beet Pulp Shreds are formed from dried sugar beet pulp. Beet Pulp is the pulp that remains after sugar has been removed from the sugar beet.

  • A high calorie, low protein, low sugar fiber source for horses

Ingredients:
Beet pulp (dried), Concentrated Separator By-Product (Concentrated Separator By-Product or CSB is a secondary molasses produced during the separation of sugar from normal sugar beet molasses).

Guaranteed Analysis:
Crude Protein (min.) 7.5%
Crude Fat (min.) 0.5%
Crude Fiber (max.) 21%

Feeding Instructions:
Standlee Premium Beet Pulp is a high fiber source for horses. Beet Pulp can be fed to mature horses at a rate of 0.05% to 0.2% of body weight/day depending on level of activity. For a 1000 lb. horse, this equates to 1/2-2 lb. of dry beet pulp per day. Gradually introduce beet pulp into the diet during a 7-10 day period. Beet Pulp is a dehydrated product and is recommended to be soaked (completely submerged) in water for a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes prior to feeding, or until properly softened. Never feed moldy or insect infested beet pulp to horses. Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water. If you have questions, please contact the nutritionists at Standlee Premium Western Forage, or consult with your veterinarian.

How much water should be added per each lb, of bp flakes to assure proper water and soaking. What should the consistency be before being fed to my horse in good dental health? With this cold Michigan winter, she dropped alot of weight.

Asked by: Har13
Thank you for your inquiry for soaking the Beet Pulp Shreds. We recommend that shreds be soaked, two parts room temperature or cold water to one part product for at least 15-30 minutes and feed these products at ground level. Thank you

Which is best shreds or pellets?

Asked by: TerrieS
Thank you for your inquiry. The only difference between the two products is the form in which they come in and the weight of the packages. The shreds are great for horses with no dental issues or choke hazards and come in a 25lb bag. The pellets are great for any equine, and this product comes in a 40lb bag. To say one would be more recommended than the other, would depend on the animal in which it is being fed to. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have further questions at 1-800-398-0819. Thank you
