The Squids Tape Measure Holder/Belt Clip is the safest way to secure and use a tape measure when working at heights. Made with rugged 1200D and 600D polyester material to ensure a long life in even the toughest conditions, this tape measure holder will last through frequent use. Easy hook and loop adjustable straps accommodate many sizes while allowing normal use of the tape measure holder. Designed with a zinc-plated cast alloy D-Ring connection point to securely attach a tool lanyard in order to keep colleagues safe below this holder is a no brainer. this thing is horrible.

this holder is useless. It has Velcro adjustments on the sides that are too low so an average size tape measure is top heavy ( I am using a Stanley 25ft.). It is too shallow so they have a very wide Velcro strap over the top that you have to unstick each time to use it otherwise any movement causes is to fall out. A case of overthinking a basic tape holder.
No, I do not recommend this product.

One thing Ergodyne does well is attention to details in design. This tape holder is no acception. It's a good-looking rig, and Ergodyne makes a point to make all specs, capacities and model information easily seen. I use Stanley Fat Max 25' tapes, and this holder fits them like a glove. I removed the original belt clip from the tape to reduce any unnecessary bulk; it was redundant, anyway, seeing that the holder has its own clip. The holder adds a bit of girth to the overall size of the tape, but not so much that it impedes in the easy use of the tape. I suppose that's a fair trade for a well-secured, drop-free arrangement.
