- A: Good morning , When looking for the right size generator for you, we have a math equation that can help. On the freezer there will be a sticker with AMP/VOLTZ information. These are the numbers you will need. AMP X VOLTZ= RUNNING WATTS WATTS X 2.5 = SURGE WATTS Make sure that surge watt does not exceed the amount on the generator or it will overload and shut off. - A: What you can do is a math equation to find out the surge and running amount of the smoker. You'll need the AMP X VOLTZ = RUNNING WATTS , RUNNING WATT X 2.5 = SURGE AMOUNT. You don't want to go to close to the surge amount of 1000 or you could overload the generator .Anonymous4 years agoHelpful?

- A: You'll need the AMP X VOLTZ = RUNNING WATTS , RUNNING WATT X 2.5 = SURGE AMOUNT (off of each appliance.) To make sure you don't exceed the surge amount. If all together its 541 running watts , it will overload the generator. You take the 541 x 2.5 = 1,352.5 surge watts. That defiantly will over load it. This is the 2nd sportsman 1000 I have purchased from tractor supply. Both times deliverey has been with in 4 days.The sportsman 1000 has been great for my use.
I take it up camping so as to run my computer and other devices. I have never had a problem with either of the 2 units. They are very quite and light. My son has the 1st unit I purchased, still running like new.

Great little generator!

Seems to be good quality, havent really got a chance to use it yet. Put oil and gas in it, started right up. Plugged in fan and ran it for a few minutes to make sure it worked. Very quite, light weight, and compact. Good price to.

I received a used one. Once I open the box it was covered in oil and the gas tank smelled like gas. First time and last time ordering from tractor supply. I never got an email reply about my ordering issue.
No, I do not recommend this product.
