    SDF-CTR receiver battery kit

    Apparently this SD425(x) model is the replacement for my SDF-CTR receiver (collar). It was a pretty easy process to replace the battery with just needing to unscrew the 4 hex screws with the provided tool, loosening the collar strap, replacing the gasket (this took some digging because it was fairly wedged into the groove), pulling out the battery, then doing everything in reverse with the new battery. We're back up to multiple days on one charge again!

    The battery worked perfectly and was easy to install. However, it only worked perfectly the first two times I used it after installation. After initial use, it failed to hold a charge and would only vibrate and not deliver a shock. I have attempted to recharge and use several times to no avail and have tried other troubleshooting techniques- very disappointed as I may have to purchase an entirely new unit and this one has seen moderate, light use since original purchase.

    The Receiver battery made the collar usable again.

    After years of use, our Sportdog collar wasn't working consistently. I was glad the collar and the transmitter both had replaceable batteries, unlike my prior brand of collar and transmitter I had purchased elsewhere years prior. With these new batteries installed, I look forward to years of additional use from this collar/transmitter set.
