Luckily Southwire is a well known top of the game electrical wiring manufacturer, and this cord defines that very aspect. First off, bright colors and solid jackets on the wire are always a good thing. Especially with an outdoor cord. I could leave this across the lawn for any purpose and it’s easily visible so you don’t trip on it or run it over with a mower. It’s a thick cord too. So not only do you know with a 12/3 AWG that it can handle those 15amps it claims with ease it’s well insulated to prevent any accidental mishaps. I love an extension cord too with a clear connection end. Not only because there’s usually a little light in there so you know you’re carrying your load from the outlet to the end of the cord, but also you can see where the wires are soldered to the spades, because as they say. Loose wires cause fires. If there’s any blackening or damage where you’re plugging things in, It’s easily visible. I ran this one today with my pressure washer to clean my siding and while it might just seem like a cord and they are common place. I trusted full well knowing that the high amp draw of the appliance and the water I was spraying wasn’t gonna cause me to hurt myself or anyone else. In short, you want a quality wire. Don’t look past these cords. Safety and quality definitely matter in even the most simple of devices.
