Slime Tractor Core Housings, 2-Pack

Residing in a notorious snow belt, we rely on a mid-size Kubota tractor and seven foot snowblower to keep our drive and roads clear of snow. Most of the time the rig sits dry and clean indoors. Imagine my surprise to suddenly find a dead flat rear tire on the K, in a pool of ballast fluid. I realized the problem was likely a corroded valve core. The Slime valves promptly supplied by TSC were easy to install, made of plated brass (to resist corrosion) and they sealed perfectly upon reflation. As a preventitve, I replaced the valve core on the other rear tire as well. Both tires maintain proper inflation with nary a drop of ballast or air seepage. Smart Bears watch their tire valves for such sign of corrosion-induced failure. Having two in the tool case is cheap insurance against disabled equipment. ~ The Duffian

I had a calcium filled rear tire in my John Deere 7220 with a bad valve. Local tire dealer said it needed to be drained to repair (more $$$). I figured it's broke, can't break it worse so tried a DIY repair. I repaired with these valves without draining and it took about 5 minutes. The day before I soaked threads with Liquid Wrench and then I got the valve to top of tire. I jacked up the rear to take as much pressure off tire (i used my forklift, but you can use a bottle jack as long as it's rated high enough). I grabbed bad valve with vice grip, threaded off and threaded new one on. I lost a little fluid, maybe few ounces and some air, but that's it. Good to go. It was that easy.

They fit my 3 series John Deere perfectly. Broke the old one off during a job, needed a new one fast was blocking the driveway. Tractor Supply had many on hand.
