Sileo (Dexmedetomidine Oromucosal) Gel is proven effective for keeping dogs calm during scary noise events. This includes fireworks, thunder, construction, vacuum cleaners, parties, gunshots, garbage trucks, doorbells and more. This gel absorbs into the pet's mouth, is fast acting and is easy to administer at home, making it easier for pet parents to manage their dog's fear response and help soothe them. Sileo gel works by blocking anxiety chemicals in the brain, so the dog's normal behaviors are not interfered with, nor do they become drowsy.How it Works

Sileo blocks a brain chemical called norepinephrine. This chemical accelerates anxiety, much like adrenaline.

Special Precautions

• Keep away from children.
• Not for human use.
• Pregnant pet parents should not administer Sileo.
• Avoid direct exposure to the mouth, eyes, and skin when handling and using filled syringes. Wear impermeable disposable gloves when handling or administering Sileo, and when coming into contact with the dog's mouth after administering.
• Sileo has not been tested for safe use in lactating, breeding, or pregnant dogs; in dogs with gingival or dental disease, which could alter the absorption; or in dogs under 16 weeks old.
• Do not administer to dogs who were sedated with previous dosing.

Avoid use in dogs with the following pre-existing conditions:

• Bradycardia
• Hypoxia
• Hypotension
• Hypersensitivity to dexmedetomidine or any of the excipients
• Conditions of stress due to fatigue or extreme cold or heat
• Conditions of severe debilitation or shock
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Respiratory disease
• Severe cardiovascular disease

Overdose Information

Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet.

Side Effects

While uncommon, the following side effects may occur with use of Sileo:

• Sedation
• Drowsiness
• Emesis (vomiting)
• Transient pale mucous membranes at application site

Storage

Store unopened and opened syringes in the original package at controlled room temperature 20°-25°C (68°-77°F) with excursions permitted to 15°-30°C (59°-86°F). Use syringe contents within 2 weeks after opening the syringe.
