Schirmer Tear Test is a diagnostic test to measure the rate of tear production in canine eyes. You cant tell if a dog has dry eye just by looking at the eyes. But there is a simple way to find out. Your veterinarian can perform a Schirmer Tear Test for dry eye. Both eyes should be tested because results may be different in each eye. Helps veterinarians rule out KCS (keratoconjunctivitis) in dogs.
