Salix ( Furosemide ) is indicated for the treatment of edema (pulmonary congestion, ascites) associated with cardiac insufficiency and acute noninflammatory tissue edema. Available in strengths of 12.5 mg or 50 mg, works rapidly to remove excess water and salt from the body. It's helpful for treating fluid in the lungs, heart failure, electrolyte imbalances and other conditions depending on the clinical pathology. Do not miss a dose and never administer more than prescribed. Suitable for use in cats and dogs only.How it Works

Salix increases the amount of water and salt the kidneys remove from a pet's blood. The excess water and salt is then passed from the body through the urine.

Side Effects

Potential side effects include:

• Hearing loss, especially in cats, after a large dose has been administered in a crisis
• Increased blood sugar levels, which is not a commonly reported reaction - in this instance, a different diuretic could be a better option for diabetic patients
• Increased urination
• Increased thirst

Protect from freezing. Store at room temperature between 59° and 86°F.
