Only right side of grill will light and work.

The grill is just as described.. just wish it would of came with a lid of some sort…

I rated this grill as average for its performance, durability, longevity, and cost. The griddle performs very well and you have the ability to cook any form of food on it from meat, to eggs, to vegetables. The draining system, however, does not work great. It is slow and creates more issues than it actually solves. If you have not cooked with a griddle before, it can be much more messy than simply grilling. The system in place drains slow, does get clogged, and be prepared to have to spend time cleaning it out. I recommend lining the draining system with tin foil.  The gas burner is fair. There is no way to cover it so it does not get the heat needed to cook a significant piece of meat (loin, ribs, butt, large steaks, etc).  The durability of the griddle/grill is fair. I have had the grill for two years and have already had issues with the burners lighting in the grill side or the knobs getting stuck. Parts of the internal holders for the grill plates have rusted and broken away making it difficult to keep the covers in place. The knobs in the griddle side continue to stick as well which can cause some problems when turning it off. The griddle itself has already lost its top coat and is forming rust on it as well. I do keep the grill outside, but it is covered consistently. This is the first grill I have had to rust this quickly to the point of chipping a part. The cover it comes with, I would recommend buying a few because the first cover didn’t last more than five months before it ripped. You are better off going with another brand cover. They are more durable.  The size is fair, although for what you get it is very big with little room to store instruments and cooking necessities. It is light weight and easily moved. I would not say it is as versatile as a covered grill or a stand alone griddle. But, for the cost it is a fair price.  Lastly, royal gourmet customer service is not helpful. Would recommend going through someone else if you have problems with their products or buy them or go with another vendor.
