I purchased a second box of this for my cat after misplacing the first box. The first packet I gave her from that first box caused some diarrhea with foul stools but I didn't relate it to this until I purchased the second box as a replacement. Her stomach revolted this time and she was miserable. She was frantic, worse than without the supplement. She was up all night (and I with her), miserable. While this seems to work for some cats, I will never give it to her again. She was better without it. This isn't an inexpensive option, and it caused horrible side effects.

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to share my experience. I had a 12-year-old stray who was essentially feral living in our neighborhood who would only approach one neighbor who has been feeding her throughout her life. This past January, we decided to bring her inside as it was going to be a harsh winter. She was terrified - hiding, hissing, darting away. I couldn't get anywhere near her to even try to introduce myself. I tried everything I could think of to get her adjusted to me. I read in the room with her every night when I fed her. I bought cat trees, scratching posts, toys, every kind of treat, but nothing seemed to work. I have been using this product for the last two months, as recommended on the packaging. The changes in her have been absolutely GAME CHANGING! She runs and plays in her room with her toys, loves looking out the window in her cat tree, does great with my other cat, and rubs up into my hand and against my legs. She still hesitates occasionally, but I have been so pleased with her progress! I work in veterinary medicine, and I would have never thought an over-the-counter product could make such a HUGE impact. Still, consult a veterinarian before use - she has put on quite a bit of weight. I measure her food to adjust for this to prevent diseases such as diabetes. However, if you are working on adjusting a stray into your home, I cannot recommend this product enough.

With the addition of a boisterous kitten & the death of Petey’s best friend, Petey began to hide under the bed all day, coming out only to eat. A friend suggested using Calming Care & I noticed a difference in her in 3 days! It was wonderful to see her out & about more! I had to mix it with some squeeze treats as she never finishes her bowl of food & if I mixed it with water, she didn’t drink all of it. I am going to start giving some to the now 3 yr old kitten as she is stalking Petey & I am hoping that Calming Care will work on her aggressive behavior towards Petey. It certainly worked for Petey, love having her more back to normal. She snuggles , goes out on the back porch, will let my husband pet her again!

one of my girls is extremely anxious. even with two Feliway plug-ins in my room she still spent most of her time hiding. I've been giving her Calming Care for almost a month and the difference is like night and day. she no longer spends most of her time hiding, she comes out readily for me and even sometimes for other familiar people. She likes the taste and eats almost all of her food every dinner. She's still anxious and shy but there's already been a vast improvement and I hope she'll continue to improve as she stays on it. Worth every penny for me to see my girl happy again. I was going to talk to her vet about Prozac before this and I'm glad to be able to avoid that experience for her. She also has a very sensitive stomach (suspected chicken sensitivity) and this doesn't give her the dreaded stinky poops! I do agree with the other reviewer saying they dislike the individual packets, it would be nice if I could buy a large tin of it with a scoop or something, and if I could buy larger quantities at a time for less price per serving. That's really my only complaint though!
