With Prime-Line's Jamb Repair and Reinforcement Kit, you can easily secure weak spots and replace the smaller, vulnerable latch and deadbolt strikes commonly installed with entry door hardware. This easy fix can add additional home security and help prevent forced entry. When fully installed, the kit provides up to 12-gauge thickness, at a total height of 59-1/2 inch. The white powder-coated finish will blend right in with your door. All parts are paintable. Reinforcing your door is easy, and all fasteners and step-by-step instructions are included. The kit features six, easy-to-install section plates and two door edge guards. It installs with 10, #8 x 3 in; screws. The door edge guards in this kit are designed to fit on 1-3/4 in. thick doors, and the latch plate comes with optional deadbolt knock out plugs to accommodate two different knob-to-lock hole center spacings. For doors hung with a large enough gap between the jamb and edge of the door, these plates can be mounted on the surface of the door jamb. The hardware included with this kit is non-handed, allowing it to be used on left or right-handed, single and double hinged door systems.
