The Prevue Pet Products Small Rabbit Hutch provides your rabbit with a safe, secure hutch that they will be happy to call home. This animal accessory house was crafted from a fine weather-resistant variety of fir tree lumber and coated with a protective, non-toxic stain. Q: How is the seal around the edges of the pull out tray? Has anyone experienced urine leaking out around the edges or is the fit snug enough to prevent this? I purchased a similar wooden one and had that problem.

- A: Thank you for bringing this question to our attention. While it is not a common issue we are hearing from our customers, I do have a few tips on how this may be prevented. 1.) If litter is not being used, we recommend adding this- or possibly switching the type if it does not seem to be working for their pet's needs. Shredded paper, Aspen shreds, specialist litter or pellets, and hay are all safe options as long as they are non-toxic. 2.) We encourage frequent changing of litter/bedding, and washing of cage as needed with a soft damp cloth and mild soap. 3.) Rabbits have a natural inclination to poop and pee in one area. You can take advantage of this by using one of our #488 Corner Litter Pans in the area where their rabbit is using the bathroom. I have included a link to this item below.4 years agoHelpful?

- A: It has a tray that slides out and you can dump the pee and poop off the tray. The tray is a wood frame with a heavy duty plastic solid tray. You can also wash the tray as needed.5 years agoHelpful?

Q: How easy is it to clean this cage? Does the liner pan slide out the front, or does it have to be lifted from the top (and if so, how tightly does it fit, can you lift it evenly?)?

well made outdoor animal shelter

Wow this is truly a very nice and well built product. We were lucky to catch it on a sale-thank you, we are happy. We have the small but it can accommodate 2 medium sized stray cats comfortably with beds. Bought the pad that warms and has rubber backing. The cats love them. The tray slides out for easy clean if you have birds or rabbits. It is easy to put the sides together. An extra pair of hands is needed to hold the pieces to start but then your okay. I bought it for stray cats so we layered insulation in the bottom and closed it, we also used the 2 pc insert separator as a wind breaker on the grill front (it closes the big opening) and laid the grill gate down against a cement wall so the cats can enter that opening. Leaving the ramp down for us is not smart. We have too many other critters and they would look at it as home too. This way the cats jump in and one has and uses it. Worth the money.

Product Not Sturdy

This product is not sturdy as it comes. Unboxing I noticed a lot of the pre-assembled parts were loose and some screws loose. Once I put it together the first time I could tell the screws and such were too small for the soft wood. I disassembled the unit and put it back together using glue and larger wood screws. I also had to relocate the door lock and do a couple other minor adjustments. Once together it looks and functions nice but be prepared to do some work to it if you want it to last.
