The user manual states, "This wet/dry vac is equipped with a float mechanism which will rise automatically to cut off the airflow when the liquid in the tank reaches a predetermined level. When this happens, turn off vac, unplug the power cord, and empty the dust tank. You will know that the float has shut the airflow off because the suction ceases, and the motor noise becomes higher in pitch due to increased motor speed. Q: Is there a Hepa filter? Or extra filter or bag of some sort? We had a rat infestation and with them came rat mite. Is this okay for trying to vacuum up all those super tiny almost invisible bugs? Because it feels like they are coming right back out.

Seems to have good suction. Wish the diameter of the hose was a little smaller so it wasn’t so awkward to use! But most are like this.

Flimsy construction

I bought this vac to help suck a pull string through conduit. It has a good strong vacuum, but the construction of the housing is very flimsy. Turn on the vacuum, stick your hand over the inlet, and the housing will completely collapse in on itself. Leave it that way for a few minutes, and it will start tearing holes in the cover. If they had made the plastic even 1/16" thicker, it would probably be just fine.

After being so disappointed so often for so long this vacuum has restored my faith in humanity. The team at Porter Cable knocked it out of the park. EVERY feature on this vacuum is brilliant, efficient and logical. My last wet-dry vacuum was great, but lacked the innovations of the Porter Cable. I give my congratulations and thanks to your engineers.

Motor died way too soon

Used it a handful of times the past few months. Today it started sounding weird and smelling bad, before it just quit working. It was awesome while it lasted...but it didn't last long
