Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very simple and effective Our rescue hound, over a period of about a year, started out shy and quiet but then discovered his voice. He got more and more ‘effusive’ in the morning when we let him out. Then a groundhog took up residence under the shed and we couldn’t keep him quiet outside. We used a collar from this company years ago for another dog and decided to give it a try. It took about a week of always putting it on when he went out for him to learn to stay quiet. Wessie is now well-behaved even when we let him out without it. The groundhog finally left.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safe product, easy to use We like the product, easy to order and use, have not found replacement batteries yet, but have not really need them yet, one of the dogs has not needed to wear it anymore

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Safe for the $ The included door storage is just what I needed. Great feature at this price. Comes with adjustable shelves, but you can’t use them all if you have long guns.

Can the unit be removed from the collar and added to a PetSafe wireless pet containment system collar, which we already have and has worked very well?

Asked by: Melissa04
Hi Melissa, thank you for your question! This unit is not to be used in conjunction with any other collars, as it may cause interference.

What is the average battery life on this collar?

Asked by: Short Circuit
Thank you for your question! Battery life in the collar is typically around 3-6 months and is highly dependent on how often the collar is activated/how often your dog barks.

Replaced battery same model number on bat but not working and whats the little window for on unit

Asked by: Brian moore
Per PetSafe: "We are so sorry to hear your collar is not working, but we’re happy to provide some assistance. The small window on the collar is there to display an LED. This LED will flash a red light when the collar provides a correction. We’d love to help troubleshoot this issue with your collar as well. If could give us a call at 1-800-732-2677, we’ll be sure to get this resolved."

I have two huskies that bark anytime they are left outside and won't stop. Will these collars work for huskies.

Asked by: Tim2010
Thank you for your question, Tim! The Basic Bark Control Collars will be effective on the vast majority of dogs. Keep in mind, however, that with the very thick coat of huskies, you may need to trim the fur around where the collar sits on the neck in order to ensure that the contact points and vibration sensor are able to make consistent contact with the skin.

I have a 4 month old Jack Russell mix and he decided he wants to bark all the time at everything. Can this collar be used with a dog this young?

Asked by: Posty
Thanks for your question! We typically recommend that dogs be at least 6 months before beginning training with a product which uses static correction. This is not because the collar would harm him in any way, but rather he may be too young to fully understand and remember the training. If your dog is consistently responding to commands such as sit, stay, etc (this typically starts at around the 6 month old mark), it may be okay to begin to use the collar now.
