The handle is supposed to be like that

This paddle has held up well. I see a lot of negative reviews about the paddle arriving with a smashed handle. It is not smashed. Read the description. The handle is made that way for indexing. This allows your hand to naturally grip the hand so that the blades are positioned correctly for paddling.

Terrible

Drove an hour to pick the paddle up. It was still wrapped but the entire paddle was crushed on the handle. The material appears to be quite thin. Total waste of money
