Good Smoker and grill

I got this for father's day last year. Works well, the only issue I had (that was also mentioned in a negative review) was that the paint peeled off when I was seasoning the smoker. I don't think the paint was rated hot enough although I did have the thermometer pegged. I assumed I got it too hot. I purchased some high temp black spray paint and covered up the bare spots. Has worked well since.

Since Oklahoma Joe was purchased by Char Broil, they sell cheap, Chinese junk. Oklahoma Joe had some of the best, all-weld construction out there. I recently purchased a Highland and on the very first use, all of the paint peeled off. I'm left with a bolt-together smoker that is bare metal on the underside. Spend a little more and buy better quality, in my opinion.

I love my smoker except I agree about the paint coming off plus my emblem broke off. I wish I had one still on it because it looks better with it. But alas it is gone...

I purchased this Longhorn from T/S in 2015 when i was 35 years old. Purchased some expanded metal, L channel and C channel, and welded sliding racks into the unit, allowing for an addition shelf for more protein. added a stainless steel shelf and lid locks. Also invested in a tuning plate , that was a game changer. the OKJ brand covers are horrible and will have to be replaced every 2 years in direct sunlight. youll get surface rust, but just hit it with oil and high heat and your good. take care of her and she will last for decades.
