I purchased this Longhorn from T/S in 2015 when i was 35 years old.
Purchased some expanded metal, L channel and C channel, and welded sliding racks into the unit, allowing for an addition shelf for more protein. added a stainless steel shelf and lid locks. Also invested in a tuning plate , that was a game changer. the OKJ brand covers are horrible and will have to be replaced every 2 years in direct sunlight.
youll get surface rust, but just hit it with oil and high heat and your good. take care of her and she will last for decades.

12+ years and still smoking, love this pit and use it 2 or 3 times a week. Brisket, ribs, shoulders, chicken it doesn't disappoint.
