The Steelie Vent Kit is a portable solution for keeping your smartphone secure and visible when you're in the car - any car. This versatile mount securely clips to most vehicle vents, and is just as easy to unclip, so it can be used in multiple vehicles. Good product, need a little stronger magnet

Love the design but only problem is with the magnet itself not being as strong as I’d like. Some surfaces I magnetize phone to it won’t hold and slides down especially if it’s not perfectly flat. I use it on some equipment at the gym. This is primarily where I’ve had a problem with it. I had one for a previous phone and it held no problem. The phone doesn’t really seem much larger or heavier than the old so only thing I can think of is the magnet isn’t as strong as one I bought several years ago. Both same brand.

Yes, I recommend this product.

A stronger magnet in the same style that would work better is our Magnetic Phone Socket Plus - https://niteize.com/steelie-magnetic-phone-socket-plus. This should work a lot better if you are having trouble with your phone sliding down surfaces.

Phone heat warning!

Installed the vent clip version and, after a twenty minute drive, my phone was incredibly hot, as was the clip/ball/magnet. The heater was not on and blowing through the vent. I was extremely concerned about damage to my device and even the possibility of a fire. Will not be using this phone holder.

No, I do not recommend this product.

magnet is too weak

Saw this in Sherwin Williams, I thought it was brilliant to hold the phone and be able to switch it from car to car... well, only 2nd part works. my iphone XR is too heavy and on bumps if phone stays attached, tilts all over the place, result? constant adjustments or reattaching. I guess the rubber in center is to limit movement, until fingers get this part greasy. Maybe introducing some abrasive texture to the magnet surface could fix it. One more thing, car vents are made to direct air, not hold weight, I already had fins misaligned on bigger potholes (fortunately did not break) and I have seen broken vents in rental cars from devices like that.
