Q: It's called bronze in the title and brass in the specifications.  Which is it?

  • A: Designed as a connector for rope, chain and strap. Always use a size at least as large as the wire size of the chain. Highly resistant to rust and corrosion. Manufactured from solid brass.

Q: What is the thickness? Outside diameter

  • A: Wire gauge is .236 Whatever size ring is will be actual and ID, in this case this item is 1-1/4”.

incredibly strong

Bought a hand full of these a few years ago. Just bought more this week. I use them for everything. They are unbelievably strong and are practically indestructible. A million uses for these guys. Do yourself a favor and buy a dozen or so and keep them in your glove box.
