- A: Hi Melindapoo50, According to the vendor: The necklace in question is not sterling silver, it is rhodium plated over brass. To answer the other question about sterling silver turning your neck green – It all depends on the person, if you are wearing it constantly or wearing in the shower, etc. it has the possibility of tarnishing which then could turn your neck green. Same goes for a brass plated jewelry piece. The only type of jewelry that would not turn your neck green would be a stainless steel piece.2 years agoHelpful?
