If you only need 1 to 2-gallon dispenser it may work, but the rest of the water will overflow onto your floor. Being able to fill it through the top from the bathtub would have worked great, but no matter how hard or how many times we tried to get the lid to seal, it would slowly overflow from the lower pan. In addition, I would have to try to tighten it so much, my wife could not get it to open to refill it. We bought it because I have back surgery scheduled and neither me or my wife will be able to pick up the old 4-gallon dispenser we have. Great idea but poor lid design. Very disappointed and had to return it. We also called the manufacturer for help and was told that he would talk with production, but never heard back. Even if you can use it outside and overflowing is not a problem, be sure a 1 to 2-gallon capacity works.

Missing plug water does not stay in

Amazing product! I have had multiple pet fountains and water buckets for our outdoor cats and all of them get algae buildup or the pumps don’t last. This fountain is heavy duty and well designed. Have had no issues with the seal leaking. I put just a little bit of water in the gasket every time I fill it up and it seals perfectly.

Works great, stays cool for pets if add ice & lasts over a week for our 2 dogs. To get a good seal use dishwasher soap on ring occasionally, use an old broomstick… as a lever for lid, & make a base out of plywood & scrap 2x4s to hold in place as you torque lid on
