Horrible design

It will be replaced soon. The display backlight is super bright, even on the dimmest setting. Not being able to turn the backlight off (like the wr300) is a huge oversight and makes this radio pretty much worthless in a bedroom. Extremely disappointed by the lazy, sloppy engineering.

Product is fine. Set up is much too complicated. If you choose a wrong area, it is extremely difficult to delete or replace. Still haven't determined how to accomplish.

Staying safe with the WR400

After many years we replaced our weather alert radio. This radio allows us to program the areas we need to know about and will not wake us for alerts we don't need to be concerned about. I like that I can program in local radio stations and has an alarm clock also.

These are much better than the ones they had years ago because you can program it to just notify you of warnings in your area and not storm watches if you don’t want them. I had one 20 years ago that went off constantly when any cloud was within 100 miles. I threw that annoying thing away. This one seems to be a very useful thing to have.
