Polyester has the least stretch and best abrasion resistance as compared to nylon and polypropylene. While polyester has a slightly lower strength-to-weight ratio when compared to nylon, this is not significant for most applications. Due to its low stretch characteristics, polyester cannot absorb shock loads efficiently. Polyester does not absorb water, which keeps its weight down when wet. It has excellent ultraviolet (UV) light resistance and hold knots well. Suitable for extended outdoor use as clothesline, flagpole rope, and in boating and camping applications.
