- A: Our window boxes are finished on both sides so that they can be used as free standing planters as well as hung beneath a window or on a railing. They also have small molded feet on the bottom to raise them up slightly to ensure that any excess water can still escape through the drainage hole in the bottom when placed on the ground.7 years agoHelpful?
