Maverick XL blind

When I ordered the Maverick blind I was curious how it would ship. Two 7’ wide sections are pretty bulky. I set it up to pick up at my local Tractor Supply store. When it arrived it looked more like it had been drug behind a truck than hauled in one. I denied acceptance and the store management backed my decision.
It looks great in the ads but I’ll never know. I ordered the Field and Stream 3 man blind for about 1/3 the cost. Works great.

Overall a good value, could use some improvements

This has some positives and some negatives. Overall I believe it will work OK for me but some things could be improved. It seemed flimsy at first but when assembled it is solid and should be weatherproof except for the door.
The mold could be improved. When using the "pre-drilled" window hinge holes most ended up with a narrow 1/16 gap on the left side. All those holes required re-drilling. In manufacturing, the door is molded into one half of the round stand. As a result it fits poorly with gaps and sags if left unfastened. A separately molded and sized cap-type door would greatly improve this stand, but I realize at a higher cost. I ended up using a tiny washer between the window hold-downs and the stand as many were too tight around the window to let them close. Finally, I wonder how it will endure the Texas heat. Looking forward to a trial this Fall.
