The MasterStat digital thermostat is designed to operate a 2-speed fan motor, a small water pump motor, and an optional water purge pump. It has a easy to read backlit LCD display. It also features a pre-wet mode to ensure your pads are full saturated prior to the pump being activated.

- Designed to control any ducted evaporative cooler with a 2-speed motor up to 1HP at 120 V or 2HP at 240 V
- The onboard sensor of this cooler thermostat has a control range of 50 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit

- If power is interrupted while unit is operating, the unit will resume in the mode active during power loss

Q: There is a cover on the back that unscrews into a battery compartment. This thermostat does not have a betery backup? If so, that means that every time the power blips you have to reset the entire thermostat settings again.

Q: MasterStat thermostat installed 4 months ago. Worked fine until today. Cannot get low fan/cool on Auto mode, only high fan. Low fan/cool works with Manual mode.

waste of money

doesnt allow you to use lo fan in auto mode. you have to use manual mode which is only off or on with no thermostat setting. so basically useless for me.

Works Just Like the Original MasterCool Thermostat

The MasterCool MasterStat Coller Thermostat arrived on the scheduled date. The installation instructions were easy to follow. It took less than an hour to remove the old thermostat and install the new one. The price was great and I was able to extend the warranty for another two years. Works just like the original MasterCool thermostat.

Great Thermostat - Would buy again!

I bought this thermostat for my swamp cooler and would buy it again. It was necessary to run 3 conductor thermostat wire from my hall to the roof. In my situation, routing was a little difficult but doable. I mounted the controller box on my cooler and wired it per the manual with no issues. I set the temperature to 74F. When the house hits 75, the cooler is switched on. At 72 it switches off. So it hold the house between 73 and 74. I have tried other swamp cooler thermostats which switched power within the thermostat mounted on the wall; however, they don't work well because they tend to self heat after a year or two (dirty contacts). Then they don't track the temperature well. Since this thermostat controller is remote, that can't happen. I like this design much better.
