Magpul MOE Grip Panels for 1911 (Full Size), Aggressive TSP Texture, Black, Polymer

These are on both of my 1911s. I’ve come full circle with grips over the years- Rubber, G10, wood, but the durability and ergonomics of this light, thin grip with generous mag release scoop can’t be beat. I have stippled them both to get the texture just right. Because they’re plastic, grip o-rings aren’t required to either, as the screws don’t need to be torqued down to stay put.

I bought the least costly .45 that I could afford at the time. The original grip panels were made of smooth textured wood and needed replacing. I bought these grip panels because of their price and texture. The price for the panels is on par with the cost of the gun, but the texture and fit of the new grip panels is supreme. I have much better grip and control of recoil than before. Followup shots are quicker. Even though the price of the panels are low, the grip is much better than the original smooth-textured wood panels which help in maintaining control of every shot.

Polymer blend is exactly what you're expecting, very dense and seems to resist oils and bore solvents. Texture is perfectly sufficient for shooting with a firm grip, but when you're just handling the pistol it's not overly grabby. Doesn't abrade my hands after hours. The panel shape is very triangular, with a prominent ridge running from bushing to bushing. The top profile is lower from the slide than GI. also the bottom profile is swept up slightly. None of the frame pins are blocked by these grips so you can disassemble the pistol without taking them off. The mag release cutout on the left side works well, you will still have to change your grip just slightly to press the button but it's a huge improvement overall. All in all I love these, I went with Olive grips on a grey parkerized GI 1911A1 and the look is incredible. I use grip o rings with these but I'm not sure if they are needed!
