Levetiracetam is typically prescribed to help supplement other anti-seizure medications, helping to improve your pet's quality of life. It's effective at reducing seizures caused by epilepsy as well as those associated with hepatic encephalopathy or cases of phenobarbital-induced liver damage. Levetiracetam anti-seizure tablets for pets are sold individually. How it Works
Levetiracetam is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants. It works by decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain.
Special Precautions
Keep away from children and other animals
Overdose Information
Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet.
Side Effects
There are very few side effects with this medication. All seizure control medications have potential to cause drowsiness. Some cats lose their appetites temporarily when beginning levetiracetam.
