It may also be used as adjunctive therapy with phenobarbital and bromides for treating canine epilepsy. Special Precautions

In laboratory animals, Levetiracetam lead to an increase in fetal and embryonal loss. Only administer this medication during pregnancy when potential risks are outweighed by potential benefits. Use Levetiracetam with caution if animals have kidney function that has decreased. It may be necessary to adjust both dose frequency and dose of this medication. Gradually with withdraw animals from Levetiracetam to prevent possible seizures during withdrawal.

Side Effects

Levetiracetam has little known side effects. Drowsiness is common in any medications used to control seizures. When taking levetiracetam, cats may temporarily lose their appetite.
