Incredible piece of glass! Absolutely

Incredible piece of glass! Absolutely clear vision through this scope! I have only been able to use this at the range thus far, however I have a drop camp hunt in eastern Idaho later this year where I will put this scope to work!

Very nice combo, I have not had a chance to hunt with it but the clarity and low light visibility watching ducks and ships has been very good.

I have owned this product
I have owned this product for 3 months now, and so far, it has performed wonderfully. I couldn't be happier. I am retired military, and do plenty of hiking and outdoor activities to bide my time. I have taken it hiking in the Boundary Waters and roughed it through all kinds of terrains. I have also left this setup on a tripod on my back (non-climate-controlled) porch in northern Minnesota all winter, and this thing has held up incredibly well. No frost inside the glass and no operating problems at -20 degrees. It is a bit heavy, but I have come to appreciate that in gear and equipment over the years, as heavier items tend to be far more durable. This appears to be the case with the Santiam as well. Overall, great product. Well worth the investment, and I am seriously looking forward to decades of use with this wonderfully engineered piece of equipment.

My background includes precision shooting, extended ranges, and observational things and stuff. I’ve performed observation and spotting with many different tools over the years, but this optic is mine.
So far I’ve used this scope for shooting out to 1000 yds, general observation (just kind of testing & figuring it out), and looking at Saturn and its rings (you can clearly see it HAS rings, you CANNOT see details OF those rings).
I’m VERY happy with it!
It’s a BIG optic (not surprisingly) and feels EXTREMELY well made. Everything adjusts precisely, fit and finish is perfect, and it feels like lab equipment in quality.
Performance is excellent. Spotting 6. 5 mm holes out to around 600 yards in less than ideal lighting and high wind was possible. Spotting steel hits out to 1000 in poor lighting (back-lit poor contrast-colored target) was dubious but possible.
Color rendition is excellent, edge to edge clarity is excellent, and my overall impression is that this is one VERY nice piece of equipment that I wish I’d have purchased years ago.
I would absolutely recommend it to peers and friends.
