Great performance! Highly recommend!

I bought this grease gun one month ago. At first I was a little skeptical of this new lock 'n load technology but after I used the gun a few times I quickly realized how easy it is to use. The lock 'n load features were very impressive. I was able to change cartridges so quickly which saved me a lot of time. I strongly recommend this product to anyone wanting a well-built high-performance grease gun.

Locking mechanism is horrible

This has to be the worst design ever in the history of grease guns. I bought this one as it appeared to be built better than the others tractor supply had. I almost put one tube of grease through it. Once it was close to empty, the barrel and head came apart. I put a new tube in it after cleaning the mess up and while walking back to the machine being serviced it popped apart again. I thought I put it together incorrectly and went through another clean up process. Installed a third tube, before I arrived at the machine it popped apart again. Took it back to tractor supply for replacement but they told me it was wore out. No replacement. Staff was irritable as it was messy. Time between purchase and back at store for replacement was just over two hours. Never buy this one. The locking mechanism is a very poor design.

    4 years and still going

Mine works great, had it for 4 years now and I go through 2-3 tubes a year, might get a little messy on the plunger but it's a grease gun. I'm just now writing this review because I'm looking at buying a 2nd one for work and saw the bad reviews.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Dreadful

The first problem was in loading the grease into the gun. The plunger would not seat with the full tube. When I finally got the plunger in, several coils of these spring popped out to the side. After several minutes of reseating the spring, I finally got the gun together only to find that it would not prime. It's going back tomorrow.

    ZERO

I bought this grease gun because of the threadless barrel. Gun worked fine but had trouble with the grease coupler could not get it off the zert. Had to pry it off. Took the couple head back to Tractor and exchanged for a new one problem solved. Not so fast folks....was greasing a wheelbarrow axle and this one got stuck also. This time the zert broke trying to pull the gun away from it. Had to easy out the zert and install a new one......So between trips to Tractor and getting the zert out and putting a new zert in, this 30 second job took two hours. Time, Labor and gas......

    Just doesn't work...

I bought this about 9 months ago with great hopes of replacing my older, leaking one. This has been trouble since the second can of grease. I've tried 3 or 4 brands of grease, (John Deere, Napa, Valvoline, etc) and this thing just will not pump or prime. I let it out in the sun for a while hoping the lower viscosity might let it pick up a prime easier. The pump handle operates like it is not connected to anything, but I see the piston is moving. relieving pressure via the bulk load and screw mechanism is no help, as is trying to bulk load grease to it. Trying to get grease canisters (the lock-n-load mechanism ) seems easy Best if you moved on a looked for a different grease gun, I had a lot of hope for this, the Lock-n-Load seemed like such a good idea over trying to screw a greasy cylinder. Somehow that design seems to cause a horrible lock-up.
