Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great idea, but mounting needs improvement I bought these door guards for our new pick-up. Our doggos like to look out the windows & can scratch & drool on the surfaces. First we tried them with just the flaps that go between the window & door, but they came right out when we closed the door. We purchased sticky-back felt & cut it to cover the flaps. This worked until the doggo jumped up on the arm rest & it pulled right out again. The Velcro that came with the covers would not stick to our truck' interior at all. Our solution was to run a rubber band between 2 metal picture hangers & slip the end of the picture hangers between the metal & the plastic part of the door on each side. The rubber band stretches across the door from side to side & it stays put perfectly!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great but needs better attachment system These work great - the material is durable and strong. They look good, too. The only downfall is the attachment system. I suggest buying a package of the big Command Velcro Strips and add them to the existing velcro. The velcro provided seemed to melt off - my interior is black and its 90 degrees outside. The Command Velcro only costs a few dollars. The slat system does absolutely nothing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Usefull but could be ameliorated I'm pretty happy to have these since a have a new car and still bring my dogs for long rides. The only thing is that the little tabs are always coming out when I shut the widows. I ended up getting double sided carpet tape to secure them to the door panels as well. Like someone else mentioned, it's easier to get rid of glue than nails or collar skratches. I still like them but don't use the tabs anymore. I have a Mazda 3.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work Great I'm buying another set; after several years use, they are starting to wear out from abuse by our large & small dogs. Only issue I've ever had was the flapping and blowing out the window when it was down. Fixed that by taping a strip of metal to the bottom to weight it down. Other than that, they never come out or impinge on the window in our Toyota Highlander or Honda CRV.

Why do not use with Tinted window? Are you saying it will scratch window? I have a pup that loves slobbering all over the window & doors :)

Asked by: SuzyK8
Hi SuzyK8. We do not recommend the use of the Car Door Guards with film tinted windows because the tabs could scratch the film.
