- A: Here is the official response from Kohler. KOHLER Pro 10W-50 Synthetic oil is intentionally not certified by API. The API Service Classifications SF, SG, SH, SJ and SL are for automotive engines. Kohler PRO 10W-50 synthetic oil is formulated specifically for KOHLER air-cooled engines in off road applications and is not designed for use in automotive engines.3 years agoHelpful?

Got this for our lawn mower. It was the recommended one for cold and hot weather. We are in the northeast and get both, hot and cold. So far we experienced 95 deg. F. and the tractor worked OK. Don’t know how it will go in the winter.
