These are comfy and supportive, and I'm so glad they've added pockets. I had thought the pockets might not work for a phone, but as the waist is fairly high, the pocket sits up high enough to keep the phone off the cantle. I think the only drawback for these pants might be for a rider who does a lot of posting, jumping, or other work with the lower leg constantly in use. - I think the lower leg would bunch up/ride up, so you might still want a half-chap with these. I ride a gaited horse, and primarily trail ride, so they are just right for my needs. I see a lot of my fellow trail riders wearing them !

These are the best! The last pair I bought lasted 10 years; in fact I still wear them. I'm glad Kerrits added pockets to this newer model. They fit perfectly and look fantastic.

Love these! I’m an older lady and the new low or even mid rise are not acceptable to me. These land right where I need them to!

These were my first attempt at a bootcut tight, I have always worn tight ankle tights. I don't wear half chaps or riding boots, I wear hiking boots or paddock boots. This has been fine for decades among my endurance riding friends as it is what they all wear also. But since riding with hunter show jumpers and recreational western trail riders I've started feeling a little self conscious. So I thought these might be a more stylish look. Well, they are fine if you don't plan to ride in them. I'd say they are perfect for someone who wants to LOOK like they are going riding. In the saddle there were many problems. Maybe these would be less in a western saddle. Biggest problem was all the extra fabric around the lower leg bunched up all over the place. Also there's a big rough seam inside the patch which rubs. And finally there is unfortunately placed crotch seams. Glad for Smartpak's return policy.
