Beautiful but made for much wider openings!

I bought this to allow me to open a big solid door for a mare who is on strict stall rest. It is beautiful and looks like it is well made. I shopped around quite a bit to find just the right stall guard to fit my 46" opening. According to the details listed, this should work. However it is way too big. I wanted to post this information here to help others who might be in the same situation. Someone else may have posted similar information, but I came back to the details listed and it seemed like it would be perfect, but it is definitely not! The rectangle part (solid/no adjustment) itself is about 35" wide. The webbing straps set to the shortest length plus the big D rings add 5.5" on each side, so that's 11 inches to add in width. Then if you add the eye hooks (screwed in as deep as possible) and the double ended snaps, that's another 5.5" on either end, so add another 11" to the width. 35+11+11=58inches. That means that if your doorway is 58inches wide, this will fit perfectly on the SMALLEST setting. Then consider that there's probably 4 or 5 inches more built in to the adjustable straps, so by my estimation, this stall guard can properly fit door openings between 58 and 62 or 63 inches. Quite a ways outside of the details in the listing. I was able to get creative and install the eyes quite a bit higher and lower than where I wanted to have the stall guard sit, height wise, and so it works ok, but it sags because it's more suspended. I don't know why it's so hard to find a stall guard that fits a standard door opening! I will say the hardware included does seem of decent quality, and it's the black stainless steel so it looks sharp.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Love the Color Options!

My gelding enjoys being the nebby neighbor. He is very curious to see what is going on and loves to be able to have his head in the aisleway. I wanted something that would be able to contain him safely while he could still assuage his curiosity as I work with my other horses or work on barn chores. The Kensington Stall Guard certainly fit the bill! It is classy, easy to use, doesn’t take up much storage space, and more secure than a stall chain.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Measurement is bogus

Measurements are bogus Measurements state that it fits up to a 47” stall opening. This is not true unless you do not not add any attachment hardware! With the included hardware you need at least a 54” door opening! Sturdy material. Now trying to get it to fit in 48” opening… Low stars as useless if will not fit.

No, I do not recommend this product.
