KBS Coatings MotorCycle Frame Coater Kit, Green/Gloss Black

The KBS MotorCycle Frame Coater Kit pairs RustSeal in Green with BlackTop in Gloss Black, sized for a motorcycle frame, swingarm, and small parts, or for an ATV frame, mower deck brackets, hitch parts, and other small farm equipment parts. It contains 8 oz each of KBS Klean, RustBlast, RustSeal, BlackTop, and KBS number 1 Thinner, plus gloves, two brushes, stir sticks, and written instructions, enough for two coats of RustSeal and one coat of BlackTop over about 12.5 sq ft. KBS Klean cuts grease, oil, and road film. RustBlast removes rust and etches the metal. RustSeal is the rust stopping base coat, a moisture cured urethane that goes over tightly rusted, sandblasted, or scuffed steel and cures rock hard yet flexible. BlackTop is the UV stable topcoat in a gloss black finish that keeps sun exposed parts from chalking and fading. Made in the USA.Surface prep is what makes RustSeal work. Knock off loose rust and flaking paint with 320 grit sandpaper, a wire brush, or a wire wheel. Clean with KBS Klean and rinse, and avoid solvent based cleaners that leave a residue. Treat rusted metal with RustBlast to etch the surface and convert remaining rust, then rinse and dry completely. A freshly sandblasted surface needs only the dust blown off. Apply between 55 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit in moderate to dry conditions, and never in rain or on a damp surface. Do not shake the can. Stir thoroughly, pour a working amount into a separate container, and reseal the can. Apply at least 2 thin coats at about 2 mils each. Recoat once the last coat leaves no fingerprint, typically 2 to 6 hours. Past 8 hours, wait 24 hours and scuff with 320 grit. Thin only with KBS number 1 Thinner or xylene. Topcoat with BlackTop while the RustSeal is between 3 and 8 hours old with no other prep. Outside that window, let RustSeal cure 24 hours and scuff with 320 grit before applying BlackTop.
