The KBS Motor Coater Kit in Chevrolet Blue has everything needed to clean, prep, and paint one engine the right way. It includes a quart of KBS Klean degreaser, a quart of RustBlast rust remover and metal etch, a pint of Motor Coater engine enamel in Chevrolet Blue, 8 oz of KBS number 1 Thinner, nitrile gloves, a brush, a stir stick, and printed instructions. Motor Coater bonds direct to cast iron, steel, and aluminum with no primer, resists oil, gasoline, and transmission fluid, and holds up to 500 F of underhood heat with a hard, UV stable high gloss finish. Use it to restore tractor, truck, car, motorcycle, and small engines. One pint typically covers one complete automotive engine. Made in the USA.Step 1: wire brush loose paint and rust, then clean with KBS Klean diluted in warm water, scrub 5 to 10 minutes, rinse, and let dry. Step 2: apply RustBlast full strength and keep the surface wet at least 30 minutes on smooth or lightly rusted metal, longer for heavy rust, then rinse and dry completely. A light white powder left behind is zinc phosphate and helps adhesion. Step 3: stir Motor Coater thoroughly and apply one or two thin coats between 55 and 82 F by brush, roller, or spray. Recoat within 30 minutes or after 7 days. Thick coats can wrinkle, so two thin coats beat one heavy coat. Reduce 5 to 10 percent with KBS number 1 Thinner if spraying, and use it for clean up. Motor Coater air cures with no heat needed and reaches full cure in 7 days. For exhaust manifolds and headers that run above 500 F, use KBS XTC instead.
