KBS Motor Coater in Ford Corporate Blue is a direct to metal engine enamel rated to 500 F, built to restore and protect tractor, truck, car, motorcycle, and small engines. It bonds to cast iron, steel, and aluminum with no primer, stands up to oil, gasoline, and transmission fluid, and cures to a hard, UV stable high gloss finish that will not chalk or fade in the sun. Ford Corporate Blue is formulated to match the original factory engine color, so a restored engine looks the way it did new. The aerosol is ideal for small engines, touch ups, and parts where a spray gun is not practical. One 12 oz aerosol typically covers one complete automotive engine. Made in the USA.For the best result, prep with the KBS 3 step system. Wire brush loose paint and rust, then clean with KBS Klean diluted in warm water, scrub, rinse, and let dry. Treat with RustBlast to remove light rust and etch the metal, keeping it wet at least 30 minutes on smooth or lightly rusted steel, then rinse and dry. Freshly sandblasted metal needs no other prep. Over sound existing engine paint, scuff lightly with 300 to 400 grit, clean with KBS Klean, rinse, and dry. Spray between 60 and 78 F at 70 percent humidity or lower. Shake the can for at least one minute after the mixing ball rattles, hold it 6 to 8 inches from the surface, and apply one or two thin, overlapping coats. After use, turn the can upside down and spray for 4 seconds to clear the valve. Thick coats can wrinkle, so two thin coats beat one heavy coat. Wait at least 7 days before clear coating. For exhaust manifolds, headers, and parts that run above 500 F, use KBS XTC instead.
