The KBS Cycle Tank Sealer PLUS Kit has everything you need to strip out an old liner and permanently seal a metal fuel tank up to 5 gallons. It contains a quart of KBS Strip, a quart of KBS Klean, a quart of RustBlast, an 8 oz can of Gold Standard Tank Sealer, nitrile gloves, a stir stick, and detailed instructions. KBS Strip comes first and dissolves a failed liner or sealer from a previous job, which is the only difference from the standard kit, so buy this one when the tank has been coated before. Then KBS Klean cleans out varnish and grime, RustBlast removes rust and etches the metal, and Gold Standard Tank Sealer coats every inside surface with a tough, fuel impervious, translucent silver film that seals small pinholes and weld seams. It is compatible with gasoline and ethanol blends including E10, E15, and E85, and it is a good fit for motorcycle, ATV, and lawn tractor tanks. Let the sealer cure 96 hours with the openings open before adding fuel. Made in the USA.Start with KBS Strip if the tank has any old liner or sealer, and follow the stripping steps in the included instructions until the old coating is completely gone. Prep decides how well Tank Sealer works. Drain all fuel, remove the tank and its fittings, and plug the openings. Mix KBS Klean 1 to 1 with hot water, pour it in, and soak while rotating the tank, up to 24 hours for heavy buildup; a handful of nuts or a length of chain helps knock loose rust free. Rinse until the water runs clear and dry the tank. Pour in RustBlast full strength and roll the tank every 5 minutes for 30 to 60 minutes so it never dries on the metal, then rinse and dry the tank completely with forced air, a shop vac, or a fan. A white powdery residue is normal zinc phosphate and helps the sealer bond, so leave it. Patch any holes larger than a pinhole with NuMetal Epoxy Putty. Seal within 10 days of prep, with the tank at room temperature and out of direct sun. Stir Tank Sealer thoroughly, never shake it, pour it in, and rotate the tank so it coats every surface, then drain the excess. Once drained it is spent, so never reuse it in another tank. Leave the openings open and let it cure 96 hours before adding fuel.
