K&H Pet Products Kitty Sill EZ Window-Mount Cat Window Perch

This review is of the K&H EZ Mount Window Kitty Sill Double Stack. TLDR: We've had 2 of these for 5 years and they have held up well. The suction cups will hold for around 6 months on a window before failing. Our sills came with instructions to soak the suction cups in water at 150F (~66C) for 10 minutes before attaching to a window and to redo this whenever a remount is required. Without doing that they fail withing minutes. Doing so and they will hold for another 6 months. That cycle has continued for our shelves for years. I suspect that the negative reviews are due to people not softening the suction cups before remounting to a window. The current instructions on this page suggest that you could "try soaking the suction cups in hot water" without stating any target temperature to assist in successful mounting. I think that's a mandatory step and 150F for 10 minutes is what I remember seeing on the instructions that came with ours. Those instructions continue to work. Why they aren't listed here is a fair question but it's essential that this is done to ensure they continue to work - as ours have. It's not perfect but 6 months per attachment is pretty decent and reliable, even when we have heavy cats (15-18lbs) that use them on a regular basis. They comfortably hold 50+lbs without issue, until the suction starts to fail at the aforementioned 6 month mark. Regular maintenance is needed - one has been in constant use and still looks in good shape. The other hasn't been used for 2 years and the suction cups have yellowed without use, so care is required to keep them in shape. I'd advise softening the suction cups at least every year, even if you are not using them. Long hair cats will leave hair embedded in the shelves but the fleece shelves are machine washable and that works well enough to keep them in good shape. They are reliable and are well used by our cats. 4 stars seems like a good rating for these, not perfect and the instructions appear to need updating for new customers but they work very well and have held up for longer than I expected. The price is also still around what we paid for ours 5 years later so definitely recommended.

Bought this a few months ago and the straps holding it up dont last and are now fraying from the cat chewing on it. The last hammock I had was fishing line so it was not able to be chewed up. This was an expensive hammock to only have for a few months. :(

Would be 5 stars if the sticker wasn’t applied to the carpet. Maybe apply the sticker to the box or another place besides the carpet. The most aggravating part was trying to take the sticker off. I’m halfway done and now you can easily notice where the sticker is due to the carpet being pulled by the sticker. Great product besides the sticker

We were gifted this for Xmas 2025 and so far we are quite pleased with it. It was easy to install and appears to have rugged quality. It definitely feels like it could hold up to 50lbs, and luckily our cat is only under 10lbs.
