Works great, you just have to know how to use it

A pressure pot sandblaster is very basc; buying another brand over this one isn't going to fix any problems you have. For the negative reviews here who post problems with clogging, it's because they aren't using it correctly. I can blast nonstop, continuously with this baster until I run out of media or until my hand gets tired. It works great. But there are several things you have to do: 1. Only use fine to medium grit media 2. Filter all media while you're adding it to the blaster. I use a large funnel, and stole my wife's large mesh strainer and set in the funnel, and pour the sand through this. You will notice large chunks of grit at the end that didn't make it through the strainer....that's good! You didn't want them in there. 3. Run your pressure at around 50 psi. 4. Add an entire bag of media. If there is not enough media in the pot, the air pressure in the pot will make a funnel in the middle of the sand, like the vortex you see in the bathtub when the water drains. Then the sand gets stuck on the side and doesn't fall down. This is probably the source of 90% of the 'clogging' problems people experience. 5. Open the first valve that lets the air in all the way. 6. Open the bypass valve that transfers air to the sand valve at the bottom all the way. 7. Open the trigger on the nozzle and crack the valve for the sand flow. Continue to open it slowly with the trigger pulled until you get just the right amount of sand flow. When you have reached this point, you can close the trigger on the blasting nozzle as frequently as you'd like, and stop blasting as frequently as you like, but the media will still flow freely as soon as you open it again. Do these 7 steps and your blaster will work flawlessly. Also, I have a 60 gallon 3.7 hp 13 CFM compressor I power mine with. The lower the pressure you set your regulator on the wall, the more CFM you're supplying to the pot, which is exactly what you need.

Works but must read couple reviews to learn tricks

1st of all, you are not going to buy this and dump sand in and it work flawless. I was so frustrated after buying last night that almost took back to store but thanks to someone else's review I didn't and now have it working. Set regulator on big compressor down to about 65psi or you'll dump all your air and won't keep up. Do not use medium or larger black diamond. It will not work - clogs and will tick you off quick no matter how you try to ease in sand- Put at least a bag or you will have to shake entire time. Still will have to shake it aroundfor best results. Hood that comes with it is cheap cloth but does work kind of. I'm using fine sand now with great results all and all You can start and stop without closing lower valve for set right without clogging. Getting it set right is trick!! Trigger will wear you out

Constantly clogs, low air pressure

Won’t run without clogging. Tried new head but no difference. Also pressure only goes to 75psi, even with 120 psi coming in. What a waste of time and money!

It works, but everything about it is sub-par

Starting from the top. Loading material is less than ideal. It takes a LONG time with a funnel that will fit in the pressure tank cap. A solid 5 minutes to do 50lbs while holding the bag up. Next is the instruction on operation. The media adjustment is the last thing to do. You have to have the trigger pulled while adjusting the valve on the bottom most of the tank (which is essentially on the ground) . If you let the trigger go at all, the material backs up in the siphon tube quickly. thus you have to shut the valve for the material before you release the trigger... which essentially means you have no control over where youre spraying the media. Also the tube from the tank to the gun is only 8ft, which may seem ok from an advertising standpoint, but since the gun is straight,, so if youre working 3ft up on saw horses, and you have a min 2ft bend radius on the hose, you're pretty much out of hose already. The way that the gun works, if you don't shut off the media, it blows a the side of the nozzle apart. in 20lbs of material i smoked a nozzle, and clogged the main tube. yes operator error on both, but it's because normal operation is unorthodox

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good for smaller products.

Definitely make sure that you have a strong enough air compressor for this unit. The one that I bought looked like it had been used before and I had to purchase additional parts to get it to work correctly.
