Interceptor kills adult hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum), whipworms (Trichuris vulpis), and roundworms (Toxocara canis), and heartworm larvae in the tissue stage, when orally administered following the suggested dosage schedule. The anthelmintic action of milbemycin oxime is thought to be caused by interference with invertebrate neurotransmission.
