I bought these for my 8 year old daughter. She is still learning how to keep her hands steady and out of her pony’s mouth when they’re working, so that’s why I bought them for her. She used them two days ago and they worked really good for what I needed them to do. She’s able to have contact with Cody but the rein-aid inserts have a nice little “give” to them. Because of that “give” it makes her hands less “hard” on his mouth. He used to get grumpy over her hands being unsteady after riding for about 20 minutes. So we always had to take the reins away, because I don’t believe that any of our horses should be uncomfortable in any way. Now with the rein-aid inserts stretching out a bit when her hands are unsteady, he really enjoys the whole lesson with her! She’s also able to concentrate more on steadying her arms and hands because she’s not constantly being told to stop pulling on his mouth! Overall these rein-aid inserts are perfect for the way I needed them to work. Definitely worth the money if you need to make a decent set of reins with some “give” to them…just add these inserts and off you go!!
