Q: can this tire be run at a lower PSI like 35 for a softer ride? I would be using on a log splitter and the OEM tires are rated 30 lbs PSI / max load 390 lbs. the DOT rating on the old tires is RHZH 1509.

  • A: The Hi-Run WD1003 (4.80-8 6PR) is a Boat Trailer Tire, with max loading capacity 745 Lbs @ 90 PSI. The manufacturer does not recommend using this tire underinflated to 30PSI even if for a log splitter.

Have patience mounting - watch some YouTube videos

I bought two of these tires to replace the tires on my CycleMate motorcycle trailer. I was specifically looking for a tire that was highway rated - a lot of the tires on line are not rated for on the road use - these are and they look like they will do the job. They were fiddly to mount without a tire changing machine. Ended up using tire spoons, a couple of big C clamps and a ratchet Strap. Mostly just needed some patience and a lot soapy water.

Yes, I recommend this product.
