An ideal balanced seat for eventers, the Phoenix Close Contact Monoflap Saddle by Henri de Rivel features a forward flap, molded knee roll and stationary thigh blocks. The monoflap design of this saddle provides a close feel of the horse's back, while the soft covered leather offers just enough grip and is known for its stability and comfort. Not only does the single flap feature provide increased close contact feel between the ride and horse but it also provides a lighter weight saddle. The (IGP) Interchangeable Gullet Plate system allows riders to quickly and easily change the metal plate in the head of the saddle tree which allows the saddle to be used on various horses. Gullet plates are sold separately in sizes Narrow, Regular, Medium, Medium Wide, and Extra Wide. All Henri de Rivel IGP saddles come equipped with a regular width gullet.

Flap is huge

Bought the 16.5 seat and the flap is both too long and too wide for my legs. (Granted, I am a short, petite rider, but just seems like the build of the saddle is not proportioned correctly.) Also, I am an eventer - so a forward flap/leg position is common on the XC course.. but this flap put me in a chair seat with my leg way too far out in front of me. The leather is okay quality, not amazing, but not poor. The color was very close to the picture, although the seat color is slightly different than the flaps, almost a 2 toned saddle. I am returning due to the flap size. Maybe it would be the right fit for someone else - but def not a shorter legged rider.

No, I do not recommend this product.
