Its heavy duty and its best quality

I received the jacket with a tear in it about three inches long. It looked like it was accidentally cut with some sort of knife. I taped it up instead of returning it because I needed it right away.

As long as you size yourself correctly and fully button it up, you will stay dry in this coat. It's even good for wearing layers in the cold. Outside of that, in particularly humid, warm weather, you may sweat a bit if you're exerting yourself, but that's the price you pay with any fully waterproof piece of apparel. The outside pocket flaps have always kept my items dry. About the only way the design could improve is by adding a full zipper to the snap button closure, as some movements by wearers with bellies can pop the button closure open.

I bought this jacket as a backup waterproof outer layer for an upcoming trip to Antarctica. I have been using it on rainy days selling Christmas trees. It truly is waterproof, based on standing in the pouring rain for 8 hours and carrying wet pine trees. The fit provides full coverage without being restrictive. The hood provides good coverage without restricting my view. I sweat a lot and this was surprisingly no worse than my lighter hiking rain jackets that are not waterproof (only water resistant). There are better jackets but you will pay hundreds of dollars for them. This jacket is a great deal. I'm hoping it works well in Antarctica as well.
