Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing purchase Was really excited for this waterer, it looked exactly like what I was searching for. HOWEVER this was so confusing to figure out to get it to fill properly. My chickens water is just as dirty as the old one. Returning today.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very convenient to fill I bought two, and yes, one plugged up after a couple of months but the other is still going strong after a year. Nice not to have to lift and flip a heavy water jug.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work I had to return this. We messed with it and messed with it. Either all the water kept spilling over or it didn’t release from the inside.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Float gets flooded with water and floods It lasted 3 months. Several times the waterer would lose water completely. The float gets flooded with water and won't stop feeding. My chickens didn't appreciate having no water in 90 degree heat all day

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over fills I bought this about a months ago and the first few days it was ok. But after that it has been nothing but trouble. It keeps over filling!! I have cleaned it out made sure it was together properly and made sure it was level and it still over flows. I'm very disappointed with it. I was really hoping it was gonna work for my chickens because I have a big flock. I buy everything for my animals at tractor supply and this product has disappointed me because everything is always great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from read lables seems like it was just what i was look filled with water and it leaked. removed from coop and again checked all parts. reread directions. re filled and this time no water came out. looked on net and followed instructions in movie. refilled and it started to leak tried to call customer service, left 4 messages over several days and never got a call back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Easy fill is the only good part Clogs daily. If I didn’t have other watered my birds would never have water. Either leaks out within hour or let’s no water out. Not worth the deal I got on it!
Date published: 2019-05-12
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money. Don't buy it. By far the worst waterer on the market. You might as well just pour the water on the ground because that is where it will be in about an hour anyway
Date published: 2019-05-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this waterer I haven’t had any issues with mine so far and I really like how easy it is to clean and fill.
Date published: 2019-05-07
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won’t hold water I purchased this because I have the same one in green that I bought last year and really like. This one however, won’t hold water. I’ve tried taking it apart, moving it, leveling it and tightening it with no luck. It leaks all over the yard creating a huge muddy mess!!! I should have moved onto something different the first time I returned it, but since I like the green one, I gave it a second chance only to have to return it again. Save time and buy something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply a bad design Just as the other review say, the mechanism in design is faulty. I took it apart after it continue to leak and reassembled it and in that process could easily see what they did to stop the water from flowing and it's simply a bad design which does not work. Water constantly leaks out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from None If you want the worse chicken waterer that , I used in 50yr's raising birds then buy this piece of junk.....Thanks Art.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too much or no water Water emptied into the run. Tried tightening the plastic screw inside and no water. Returning to TS this week. Wish I read the reviews! Doh!
Date published: 2019-04-24
Rated 1 out of 5 by from DOESN'T HOLD WATER! Easy fill, yes. Float valve doesn't work. Runs over and is empty in less than an hour. Do not waste your money. I have meticulously cleaned before filling, only to watch it overflow and create a 5gal mudhole. The float gets filled with water and doesn't control flow.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Constantly leaks no matter how level you manage to make it. Total waste of money and makes a mucky mess. Learn from my mistake and save your money!
Date published: 2019-04-07
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work, leaks out all the water Maybe in zero gravity or some kind of labratory this waterer would work. Not in a chicken coop. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good drinker Works like a giant hummingbird feeder. Surprised by all the negative reviews. I’ve had this drinker for a year now and I don’t have problems with it. I had a couple issues early on with unlevel surfaces, but all you need to do is turn the filler opening to the downhill side and it won’t drain out. I haven’t had issues with the float mechanism as some reviewers have, but I wouldn’t discount their opinions. I like this drinker because I have ducks, and ducks are disgusting, messy little boogers, that turn their drinking water into a food and mud milkshake every day, but this drinker has a back flow preventer that doesn’t allow all the filth to migrate back into the containment basin, so the supply water doesn’t get contaminated. We open the top and refill it every morning and it always has clear, clean leftover water that doesn’t need cleaning. Easy to maintain. I’ll be buying another one this spring since we have some new ducklings that are about to be let loose into our duck pen in a few weeks and we’ll need more drinking stations for them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Well, great concept, poor execution... Absolutely loved this waterer- easy to fill clean etc. but after about 3 months it leaked immediately - empty in 30 mins! So I am out there with leveling devices, using surgical precision to place the water on platform ( leveling platform and waterer lol- my chickens warily watching me wondering if this idiot can decipher this simple waterer and result in a water supply... Jeez- thanks to the helpful reviewers with more brain cells than moi, I found out how to "fix" my 3 month old waterer (waterlogged float = failure, drained, silicone caulked etc) Hopefully won't drain out again - but... when i saw how gross it was in waterer interior, def worth taking apart monthly for deep cleaning. So this should be fixed in manufacturing - no excuse for buyer to do this type of repair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst water container EVER!!!!!! If you want to waste you hard earned money on this product then go ahead. The thing leaks like a sieve and will not hold water at all. I understand that there is a need to have a level flat surface which I have set up with meticulous precision but the silly things still leak. Shame because I like Harris Farms other products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poorly designed float I bought this a year ago and it never held water, it’s been sitting in the pen. I was ready to chick it and was looking for a new waterer on the website when I saw the reviews were only 2 stars. Reading them I saw everyone had the same problem BUT there were also a few suggestions to remedy the leaking. I cleaned all the pieces, sealed the float with waterproof caulking..... IT WORKED!! Thrilled to have been able to save this expensive purchase. I would think with all the negative reviews the manufacturer would have made a change to the float design flaw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expected More After buying this, it lasted less than 6 months. Stopped holding water. When I went back to the store, clerk told me "Oh, well, they just don't last very long, I guess." I threw it away and had to buy the Metal one instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great drinker Great drinker for the birds. As many have heard, they can occasionally leak/water flows over the bottom base. Easy fix. Take the drinker apart, remove the black donut looking float valve, and find the seam on the edge of the float. Slightly crack it apart and drain the water that builds up in there over time. That’s why the water flows over the bass. The valve gets water logged and doesn’t float up to stop water form filling the base. Once water is out, firmly push the float back together and re assemble the drinker! Every month, be sure to clean out the drinker and even around the float, while checking for more waterlog. Keeps water clean and birds happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes it really does work - read this I bought this waterer about 6 months ago and it began to "fail" when the water would pour out the bottom. After reading reviews from people who gave it 5 stars, I did what they said - took it apart and drained the float. The float being the black disk between the base and bucket. Yes you have to take it take it apart and once you see how gross it gets, you'll probably do so more often. It works perfectly now. True it should be a one piece float, but it is not, so I have to deal with it. I plan to fill the float with foam like others have mentioned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks constantly, hardly works at all Worked for about a week then started leaking and overflowing constantly, no matter what you do with the valve.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Water & $$$ I’ve been trying to use one for a couple months. Have leveled, adjusted black screw all to no avail. 5 gals of water is too costly to see it run out on the ground not to mention the $$$ paid for this plastic waste.
Date published: 2018-11-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from water stays a lot cleaner I have had this for about 6 months and am very happy with it. easy to fill and the water stays so much cleaner. I would love it if they could make a heated version..
Date published: 2018-11-25
Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY Absolute piece of junk. Might as well have used that $$$ as kindling to start a fire. Does not hold water. Leaks all over the place. There should be a recall on this junk.

Am i supposed to remove the little red cap in the bottom of the well of the waterer?

Asked by: Dkpohl
Yes, that's the plug and the unit won't allow water from the bucket to the trough until it's removed. The plug is only used when transporting the unit full of water.

When I put water in it it continues to come out and over fills. How do I fix this?

Asked by: TT2410
This unit works with a float and float stop. Sounds like the float stop is possibly dislodged. Remove the bucket from the base and reassemble the unit to see if this fixes the issue. If not email me at bobw@mannapro.com and I will walk through each part with you step by step.

Bought this product last fall now the float is full of water and will not stop the flow when it is supposed to. Is there any way to just get the float and not purchase a whole new waterer?

Asked by: Funfarmer
How to correct a float with water in it: 1. Remove the bucket from the base. Reach in the bottom of the bucket and remove the screw while holding the nut. 2. Turn bucket upside down. 3. Make sure that the washer is on the screw, then lay the screw and nut down. 4. Pick up the float/float stop. Shake the float. If you hear water in it pull back on one side of the float, drain the water out, pop the float back in place. The float is a two piece mold and can take on water if its chamber is flooded due to the float stop not working properly. 5. With bucket upside down, put the float stop in the hole in the bottom of the bucket. Re-assemble the unit with the bucket upside down. The screw goes through bucket and nut on bottom of base. If the drinker is still leaking please contact questions@mannapro.com for additional support or replacement parts."

What do I do when the water doesn't come out?

Asked by: JenBradley625
They may be an issue with the float located in the base. We recommend disassembling and cleaning the unit.

Can you get parts for this? Mine was missing the red thing that stops all the water from coming out all at once.

Asked by: Sammi
It sounds as if the float stop is out of position. Please see instructions below. Steps to correct: 1. Remove the bucket from the base----reach in the bottom of the buck and remove the screw while holding the nut. 2. Turn bucket upside down 3. Make sure that the washer is on the screw---lay screw and nut down. 4. Pick up the float/float stop. Shake the float---if you hear water in it pull back on one side of the float, drain the water out, pop the float back in place. The float is a two piece mold and can take on water if it’s chamber is flooded due to the float stop not working properly. 5. With bucket upside down put the float stop in the hole in the bottom of the bucker. Re-assemble the unit with the bucket upside down. Screw goes through bucket and nut on bottom of base.
