Glycopyrrolate Tablet can be used to slow secretions in the mouth, throat, airway and stomach. While it may be prescribed for a variety of reasons, Glycopyrrolate is commonly given to dogs before and during surgery to help mitigate risk and protect against some side effects. Administer the tablet as directed by your veterinarian. How it Works
Glycopyrrolate is known as an anticholinergic. It blocks the activity of acetylcholine, a substance in the body that decreases secretions and side effects brought on by medications that can increase acetylcholine action in the body.
Special Precautions
Aside from the possibility of being slightly less arrhythmogenic and rare adverse reactions to CNS, Glycopyrrolate is similar to atropine in its side effect profile.
Overdose Information
Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital or vet. Symptoms of overdose may include reduced heat tolerance, personality change, hyperactivity, and increased thirst, urination and hunger.
Side Effects
Glycopyrrolate could strengthen the actions of sympathomimetics, thiazide diuretics, and nitrofurantoin. Glycopyrrolate and the derivatives thereof could antagonize the performance of metoclopramide.
Storage
Store in tight containers at room temperature (15-30°C).
